Sarabi’s Story: Part 2—The Symbolism of Light

The Symbolism of Light in "Sarabi's Story"

In a recent conversation with Astara J. Ashley, publisher at Flower of Life Press, I had the opportunity to delve into the deeper meanings within my new book, Sarabi's Story: A Maine Coon Cat's Perspective on Life, Love, and Family. One of the central themes we discussed was the symbolism of light and how it weaves through the narrative of Sarabi’s life and our shared journey.

Light, in Sarabi's Story, is more than just a physical presence—it’s a symbol of healing, comfort, and the unconditional love that Sarabi brought into our lives. One of my favorite memories of Sarabi is her finding comfort under the warmth and glow of our Christmas tree during the long holiday season. The tree’s light seemed to offer her a sense of peace and security, reflecting the way she brought light into our family during both joyous and challenging times.

Astara and I also touched on the importance of animal rescue, a cause that is close to my heart. Rescuing pets is not just about saving animals; it’s about bringing more light into our own lives. The love and companionship that animals offer is a powerful source of healing and comfort, much like the light that Sarabi sought and embodied throughout her life.

Sarabi's Story is a tribute to the unconditional love and light that animals bring to us, even in the face of loss. It’s a reminder that, no matter the darkness we might face, the love of a pet can be a beacon of hope and healing. I encourage everyone to consider rescuing an animal—not just to save a life, but to bring a little more light into your own.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of love, light, and the incredible bond we share with our animal companions.

With love,
Kathie
